30 [M4F] Punjab, India (Anywhere) - Spiritual man seeking long term m

1h ago

*2-4 minutes to read* **INTRO** - 30-year-old, 5ft 10inch height(without shoes), fit physique, 75kg weight, Indo-Aryan ancestry. No siblings and just both parents. I live in a village in Punjab, India. I'm labelled Jatt Sikh here, if anyone's curious. [APPEARANCE](https://imgur.com/a/scIcDhT) - [ALT LINK](https://imgur.io/a/scIcDhT) **SOME CONTEXT** : I had posted before and got multiple approaches but most were not willing to come to my village location, which i wanted and it's understandable. Others had compatibility issues. So I’m now willing to relocate even, for a suitable match, because it has basically become impossible to both find a match & get to kn...

Never want to be 19 again

1h ago

So, this is going to be an extremely long post. Basically, I want to rant so that I won't hold onto these things anymore. 2025 was a very bad year of my life, or maybe 2025 taught me a life lesson. Feel free to skip this post, and please don't comment until you have read the whole thing. Right now, I am 20, sorry for posting here. In 2023, I took a drop year for JEE because I already got a low percentile in 12th grade. In the 2024 January attempt, I scored around 97 percentile, but I wasn't happy, nor were my parents. Tbh, I listened to all their taunts during my drop year, especially my father's, and after my January attempt result, I was so exhausted. I remember my br...

Battle of Nalapani deserves a mini series of its own. Context in comments.

1h ago

The Battle of Nalapani was the first battle of the Anglo-Nepalese War of 1814–1816, fought between the forces of the British East India Company and Nepal, then ruled by the House of Gorkha. The fort's garrison was commanded by Captain Balbhadra Kunwar, while Major-General Robert Rollo Gillespie, who had previously fought in the Battle of Java, was in charge of the attacking British troops. Gillespie was killed on the first day of the siege while rallying his men. Despite considerable odds, both in terms of numbers and firepower, Balbhadra and his 600-strong garrison successfully held out against more than 5,000 British troops for over a month. After two costly and unsuccessful atte...

So Are Any of These Claims Historically Correct?

1h ago

So I saw a Tumblr thread filled with a BUNCH of claims about history, and I’m curious how many of them are true. I can’t post the image but these include, as directly quoted from the thread… 1: “TIL of the "Tiffany Problem". Tiffany is a medieval name-short for Theophania-from the 12th century. Authors can't use it in historical or fantasy fiction, however, because the name looks too modern. This is an example of how reality is sometimes too unrealistic.” 2: “There was a literal fad in the 1890's for nipple rings for all genders (and NO, it was NOT under the mistaken belief that it would help breastfeeding-there's LOTS of doctors' writing at the ti...

21M from India - Chronically online and stuck at home, how do I actually make real friends?

2h ago

Hey everyone,I'm Hatim, 21M from Mumbai, India. I'm at home all day no college, no job, no groups or events and it's making me feel really isolated. I want to make genuine online friends to chat with regularly, maybe do calls or play games like COD once we're comfortable, but I have no idea where to start or how to keep conversations going without being awkward.I've tried lurking on Reddit/Discord but never posted because my social skills are rusty. What worked for you when you were in a similar spot? Specific tips on apps, subreddits, or even message templates would help a ton. Thanks in advance!(IST timezone, down to talk anytime)

Any info on these brass oil lamps & confirming fuel type?

2h ago

Hi! I just got these cool vintage brass oil lamps (4" tall, Made in India, guessing from the 70s?) and I literally cannot find another example of this style anywhere online except the eBay listing I bought them from. Would these be considered oil candles? Also curious if anyone has seen these specific beehive or ribbed body lamps before or knows anything about them. I just figured I'd be able to find more info about them or matching examples for something that looks mass-produced. Link to images: [https://imgur.com/a/bk1ISNm](https://imgur.com/a/bk1ISNm) (hope it works) Fuel question: I assume I'm fine to use any of the top recommended lamp oils on the lanternnet site, but si...

This Reddit strategy keeps working for me, but I’m unsure it’s worth scaling

2h ago

This is going to be a bit of a long post, but I’m sure everyone can get some value out of this post even if they have nothing to contribute, so I highly recommend you read the whole thing.  The whole thing started when a friend reached out asking how to switch from his 9-5 to freelance video editing. He wanted to know how I was able to start freelancing, find clients, and actually close them. That's when I looked back at my own process and realized I had a pretty consistent method for getting clients, especially inbound ones, using Reddit. I've been on Reddit for about 8 years now, and in that time I've bounced between a bunch of different businesses. * Started out as a ...

RN vs PT for Someone With an Integrative / Prevention-Focused Mindset - Looking for Honest Feedback

2h ago

Hey everyone, Reaching out to get some clarity. I know versions of this question have been asked a million times, and this isn’t a simple RN/NP vs PT debate like a lot of posts I’ve seen here. I’m really looking for more personalized advice and honest feedback based on my situation. Quick disclaimer: I may cross-post this in a few subs (RN, NP, PT) since I’m trying to get perspectives from different angles. Background: • I graduated from a small liberal arts college in Washington with an interdisciplinary degree called Holistic Approaches to Healing: Body-Mind-Spirit Integration. I didn’t take math or science classes, and the program was pass/fail with narrative evaluations...

Astronomy in Rajasthan: A Comprehensive History of Celestial Sciences in India's Desert Kingdom

2h ago

# Introduction Rajasthan occupies a unique place in Indian astronomical history. Though systematic celestial studies began later here than in ancient centers like Ujjain or Benares, Rajasthan emerged between the 16th and 18th centuries as one of India's most dynamic astronomical centers. The region's astronomical tradition features remarkable royal patronage, monumental observatories, creative synthesis of Hindu and Islamic systems, and practical handbooks serving astronomers across the subcontinent. The astronomical heritage reflects Rajasthan's broader cultural landscape. The Rajput kingdoms—Bikaner, Jaipur (Amber), Jodhpur (Marwar), Udaipur (Mewar), and Kota—compete...

Going through a very bad phase and unable to handle it.

2h ago

Long post alert. 24M here from chennai. Was in a relationship with the love of my life from 2018-2024 and have known her since 2017. I’m someone who is quite reserved and introverted but I have extreme anger issues and very bad at managing it. I had a very beautiful relationship where I always felt valued, respected and was very happy. When I had to move out of India for studies, that’s when things started to change. We usually fight everyday for silly things but talk again the same day and we loved those silly fights between us. I usually don’t get excited by anything, I have never felt happy or sad or angry with anyone else apart from her. When I moved abroad I started missing her s...

Prelims statement framing techniques : UPSC frames questions in predictable manner

2h ago

Hi, I have cleared prelims twice in my first two attempts (marksheets in the comments). I wanted to share what made prelims intuitive for me You must have heard from toppers or those who clear prelims \- Understand the language of PYQs. It helps you eliminate and get a feel for what is correct But no one is able to articulate this in a concrete manner and provide evidence. I have used my UPSC experience and engineering experience to find out exactly what this "UPSC language" means. UPSC frames statements in a particular manner to make question solving easier for us. Here is how There are only 4 ways in which UPSC frames statements 1. Extreme/general statements 2. Word - brea...
