The scam worked through multiple people pretending to be from different departments to create legitimacy. Step 1: I first got a call from a guy calling himself “Pawan Upadhyay” from HDFC: +91 75368 22978 He told me my insurance complaint would be escalated to “Bima Lokpal” and gave me a complaint ID.
