I run a small thrift clothing business in India. People keep telling me I need SEO. What does that actually mean?

8h ago

Hi everyone, I run a small thrift clothing business in India and recently launched a website for it. When I talk to people about marketing, many of them say the same thing: “you need SEO”. But everyone explains it differently. Some say I should write blog posts. Others say backlinks matter the most. Someone else told me it is mostly technical work on the website. So I am a bit confused. For people here who actually work in SEO, what does “doing SEO” for a small business actually involve? What would you focus on first? Would love to hear how professionals approach it.

these non-cricket watching indians are so deluded lol

8h ago

So the other day when bcci announced the cash prize of inr 131cr, which is entirely from the revenue generated by cricket, going into cricket again - not any tax payers money, purely cricket money. Then I came across multiple posts stating about this particular thing of 131cr inr The comments were hilarious- It's more like Board of Control for Sports in India rather than cricket in india. These guys are so deluded and lack info, yall want funding for other sports right? why tf are you even bcci lol, go beg your sports body or whoever is responsible. These guys come out of their den only after some major cricketing news, tbh they don't even give af about the country; keyboard war...

[Get Paid] Earn upto ₹500 for helping fix your city's roads - ₹3,000 Payout Pool is LIVE!

We all complain about potholes, overflowing garbage, and water-logging, but usually, nothing changes because the data isn't visible. I’m trying to change that with [InfraFlux](http://infraflux.space/)—a community map that tracks these issues to increase accountability. I’m already doing my part—I’ve personally mapped 35+ reports around my city to get the ball rolling. Now, I’m looking for volunteers to help map the rest of India. To make it worth your while, I’m offering a ₹3,000 bounty pool for this pilot phase. It is very easy to report, just click on report button, select issue type, snap image and submit. 💰 Civic "Beer Money" The Deal: ₹10 for eve...

wplacetr mods hypocrisy needs to be shown

8h ago

Neither do I participate much in wplaceIndia, nor am I a hardcore wplace player, but the hypocrisy needs to be pointed out. I never commented anything hateful in that sub, I just questioned the mod on why he isn't banning the outright racist buffoons, people who are posting AI generated images of Indians with slurs, and other outright vile stuff, but instead I saw he was making those comments himself as well. Even after asking such a simple question, he banned me saying "look I banned u" This is the same mod who was commenting yesterday, and crying why wplaceIndia is attacking them, and was telling how Indians are racist, meanwhile visit r/wplacetr, and look at the situatio...

Critiquing India’s Fiscal Federalism: An Analysis of the 16th Finance Commission Report

8h ago

The Sixteenth Finance Commission’s recent report on India’s fiscal federalism presents a puzzling mix of praise and oversight that deserves critique. While lauding the Union government’s fiscal restraint during the pandemic, it largely ignores the persistent fiscal deficit problem that has plagued the Centre for years. Despite the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) Act of 2003 aiming to cap the fiscal deficit at 3% of GDP by 2008, the Union government missed these targets repeatedly — fiscal deficits hovered between 3.3% and 3.9% in the decade before the pandemic, **with a dramatic spike to 9.2% during COVID-19 as per Union Budget documents (2021-22).** **This h...

Is India truly independent? (not OC, sourced from a reddit post)

8h ago

The idea India gained independence because Britain no longer had the resources to maintain colonial rule and felt compelled by America after Gandhi led a few peace marches is perhaps the greatest propaganda ever written. It’s taught in every school.  Its true the British Empire was in a state of utter disarray by the end of WW2, but the British did everything possible to maintain colonialism, by transitioning their colonial Empire from extraction style mercantilism to a new form of neocolonialism- AKA the modern, global financial system or “neoliberalism”  At the end of WW2 Britain owed a huge debt that should have ruined their Empire. Half the debt was to America. The other half w...

Buffet Indicator, War & Indian Stock Market

9h ago

While the markets have taken a nose dive after the Iran war, the buffet indicator for India (Market cap vs GDP Ratio) is still at 118%. (Source: [Link](https://www.gurufocus.com/global-market-valuation.php?country=IND)) The historical average for this indicator for the Indian markets has been around 90-105% Some people are buying the dip but the question remains is the Iran war just a small trigger for something even worse for the long due correction? I missed buying the dip during the COVID meltdown and still regret not entering the markets that time due to extreme fear, but now when I look at the current state I still doubt whether I should enter the market because it still seems overva...

27 [F4M] #Delhi, India – Feminine, nerdy woman who values loyalty, stability, and building a life together

9h ago

Hello, I’m 27 and from Delhi, India. I spent several years living in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, so I’m very comfortable with international environments and different cultures. Distance or relocation wouldn’t be a barrier for me if the connection is genuine and we’re moving toward the same future. A little about me: I’m 5'2", with brown eyes, a wheatish/light-tanned complexion, and very long straight hair that’s a mix of black and chocolate brown reaching toward my hips. I have a slim-to-normal build, and I wear glasses. I’d describe myself as feminine, soft in personality, and someone who values warmth and harmony in a relationship. Professionally, I’m a data s...

[18M] from India looking for friends

9h ago

Hey, I’m 18M from India. I’m really into movies and TV shows, I play and follow tennis, and I also like watching cricket. Most of my free time is usually spent watching something, following sports, or just chilling. I thought I’d post here to see if I can find some genuine long-term friends to talk to about random things, sports, shows, or just life in general. If you’re also looking for a normal conversation and someone who’ll actually reply, feel free to message me.

Hey everyone, I’ve been digging into my family history. I am a Gujarati Jain with the surname Shah. For those unaware, Gujarati is an Indian ethnic group in the Northwestern part of India and Jainism is an *extremely* minor dharmic religion (0.1-0.2% of the world population) centered around non-violence and akin to Buddhism. The religious community has been disproportionally influential in the business and trade communities across India and abroad (Middle East, North Africa) both historically and contemporarily that we've been sociologically/academically been compared to Jews. According to my dad, who heard it from my great-grandparent, our ancestors didn’t always have this nam...
