Vitthala Diksita: A Scholar's Legacy in Sanskrit Astrology and Manuscript Traditions2h agoVitthala Diksita stands as a notable figure in the rich tapestry of Sanskrit scholarship, particularly in the realm of jyotisa, which encompasses both astronomy and astrology in traditional Indian learning. Born into a family of learned Brahmins, he was the son of Bhibaraman, also known as Vivasarman, and belonged to the Kasyapa gotra. Even They Admit That They Are Not Specialized...They Just Need a Job2h agoThere are not enough jobs in their home countries, so the solution becomes going to another country and displacing American workers. In many cases, they present themselves as specialized workers, then complain about visa issues while, in the process (not all, but many), attempting to commit fraud in order to enter and remain in the country. At the same time, American jobs are being offshored to that same country. This is not anti-immigration. American workers have the right to protect themselves. (banned acc repost) Sanskritization , Appropriation . God in the Sanctum, Builder in the Street2h ago1. Introduction: The Political Economy of Ritual and the Alienation of Labor The sociological landscape of the Indian subcontinent is characterized by a persistent and structurally embedded paradox: the profound separation between the material production of culture and the ritual authority that governs its consumption and sanctification. This report provides an exhaustive analysis of this phenomenon, positing that the "Great Tradition" of Sanskritic Hinduism has historically sustained itself not merely through theological supremacy, but through a systematic mechanism of extraction, appropriation, and the subsequent sublimation of subaltern labor and epistemology. The core the... u/Murky-Letter2510 is fake con artist2h agoHe uses his friends pictures to verify and then blocks you after you send gift card. I’m trying to finish school from bed and get my life back.2h agoHi. I’m not really sure how to start this, but I’ll try to be honest and brief. My name is Avi. I’m 17 years old, from Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), India. When I was 13, I was diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a rare blood disorder where the body stops producing enough blood cells. I was treated by Dr. Neeta Radhakrishnan at PGICH Noida. I went from being a normal school student to needing frequent blood transfusions and lifelong medication (Cyclosporine) just to stay alive. I was slowly learning to live with it. Then, in September 2024, everything changed again. I was in a severe road accident that: shattered my right thigh bone (femur) fractured my shin (tibia) broke my left... Am I having the wrong idea about overseas sports programmes for kids?2h agoMy (F38) sister keeps telling me I should send my children overseas for short sports programmes. My kids are actually quite good at hockey and badminton, they train properly and play competitively and have received awards for sportsmanship. I am more focused on their academic excellence. I graduated here in India but did not have opportunity to do post-graduate, like they will, likely abroad too. According to my sister, a 2–3 week programme abroad will give them exposure, confidence, and something extra that they won’t get here. When I look at the cost, it’s being very expensive. Almost the same as paying a full term’s school fees for just a couple of weeks. We can afford to pay thi... Indian nationalists, led by figures such as Jawaharlal Nehru and moderate members of the Congress, had long campaigned for dominion status—demanding self-governance while acknowledging the Crown’s symbolic authority. The movement balanced mass civil disobedience, strikes, and legislative lobbying, leveraging both popular support and international sympathy to pressure London. The Dominion compromise granted elected assemblies, partial fisc... Welcome to r/anythingwomen! 👩🇮🇳2h agoHello and welcome! I went to Toronto for higher studies and ended up doing two programs because I genuinely enjoyed the first one. During my first program, there was a professor. Let’s call him Kevin (30M). He was about four years younger than me, but you wouldn’t guess it. I’m short, look younger than my age. He was very tall and mature looking. From my country. Familiar energy in a foreign place. I was attracted to him. Never said anything though, because it wouldn’t have been appropriate. That was it. During my second program, I ran into him a few times casually on campus. Just brief interactions. Coffee once or twice. That’s all. I finished my studies, came back home to I...
