I was invited by the Mods of this subreddit to share my weekly e-commerce news recaps (ie: shorter versions of my full editions) to r/Shopify. Although my news recaps aren't strictly about Shopify (some weeks Shopify is covered more than others), I hope they bring value to your business no matter what platform you're on. Let's dive into this week's top stories... ___ **STAT OF THE WEEK:** AI traffic to U.S. retailers increased 393% in Q1 year-over-year and 269% over the previous 12 months, according to Adobe da... Rant - Does language search work for SMART TV's a common device for all?4h agoI wanted to share something about Netflix that has been on my mind for some time, and I hope this does not sound odd and useless. One of the best things about Netflix is that it lets us watch stories from all over the world. Korean dramas, Japanese shows, and movies from different countries are now reaching people who would never have found them before. But the language support still feels very disapponting sometimes. When someone selects Hindi or Hindi dubbed, the expectation is very simple. Netflix should mostly show content that is actually available in Hindi. But many times the filter still shows titles that are only in Korean or available in Spanish, Portuguese, or Thai while Hindi o... Social media nastiness has travelled to Reddit too4h agoReddit comments used to be fun! And so clever at times. I couldn’t wait to click and see the comments to know what funny stuff someone must’ve written in response. But the IG - FB rude / mean / nasty comment styles seem to be infesting reddit too. Maybe its been happening for a long while but it hit me this week. It used to be fun. Still can be at times. But not before you stumble upon someone being nasty for NO REASON! Everywhere, people are just fighting in the comments. There’s so much angst & frustration in people nowadays and everyone’s ready to fight at the drop of a hat. Those who stay away from social media are lucky in a way. They don’t have to see all this. I... MITCHELL STARC HAS ALREADY ARRIVED INDIA!4h agoMitchell Starc Landed In India today, more details are coming up soon.Recently media posted this picture of Mitchell Starc from the airport. He wouldnt be available for the Dc vs SRH game but Most probably he will be available for the Dc Vs Punjab Kings game. Why hasn't Whitechapel gentrified?4h agoBefore anyone comes at me - I am a dual British/Canadian (ethnically half Pakistani, half Indian woman) who has lived in the UK for over a decade and a half, most of that time in East London. I'm simply sharing my thoughts and asking questions based on my current lived experience in the area, and from the cultural background I have from my own upbringing. I have lived in Shoreditch/Whitechapel for around 8 (non consecutive) years. There's no argument that Shoreditch has gentrified - for better or for worse depending on how you feel about gentrification - but the endless amounts of coffee shops, restaurants, and hipsters attest to that fact. Yes the area has gotten more expensive a... I represented Australia at Davos and was invited to meet ambassadors in Thailand and India. Here's what I actually ...4h agoBit of a different post from me. I spent the better part of 2023-24 representing Australia in impact investing delegations globally — Startupbootcamp in the Netherlands, World Economic Forum's Davos Innovation Week, Money20/20 in Bangkok, and eventually meetings with the Australian Ambassador to Thailand and an invitation to India. I'm sharing this not to brag — but because the perspective shift from global exposure was genuinely significant. The pattern I saw everywhere: 1. Financial exclusion is a global problem with local expressions. What I was building for young Australians resonated with founders in Indonesia, Kenya, and Brazil who were building the same thesis for dif... The Beatles - Shades of Life (1968)4h agoI'm hoping to slowly start posting again now that I've worked through a decent portion of my university assignments. A slightly larger-scale post will be uploaded soon. The basic premise of this fan album: what if there was no Magical Mystery Tour or Yellow Submarine projects? What would the Beatles do with all of these songs? After Sgt. Pepper, the band record their next album in a series of sessions spanning late 1967 to February 1968, barring a few tracks which were born in the Pepper sessions. The album, Shades of Life, is released in March 1968 while the band are in India. It shows the band in the middle of a transition between the psychedelic era and the rootsier approach ... dhobi ka kutta na ghar ka na ghaat ka4h agoPata hai aaj kya hua I was friends with ‘A’ (guy) in school, he’s was like a brother to me. we did a few night stays, we smoked cigarettes and drank sometimes. we had all the school time fun which was possible. after our 12th exams he had planned to go to another country for is undergrad while I stayed here and got enrolled in Delhi University. our bond was still strong we did a weekly video calls and ****. on day I met this beautiful girlie “B” at my college and we became friends. she was really friendly and our vibe clicked immediately. soon we were hanging out, going to mcdonalds joking around and ****. it was purely platonic and we liked each others company. my girlfrie... CMV: Social media platforms like Reddit should be required to have a local office or legal representative in the Philipp...4h agoThe Philippines currently have the Internet Transaction Act of 2023 and it specifically says: *“This Act shall apply to all business-to-business and business-to-consumer internet transactions… where the digital platform, e-retailer, or online merchant is availing of the Philippine market and has minimum contacts therein.”* However, when I filed a complaint against Reddit at our local Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) office, the Secretary dismissed my case saying they "don't have jurisdiction over Reddit because it's outside of the Philippines". So, I sent several emails to our current senators urging them to amend the ITA of 2023 and required all social med... URGENT: 2Y SFMC Exp Laid Off - Need Proxy/Backdoor Job Leads4h agoHey everyone, I was laid off last month from my MNC role with 2 solid years of hands-on SFMC (Salesforce Marketing Cloud) experience—reason was company restructuring, nothing on my end. Not seeing any solid SFMC gigs on Naukri.com right now, so I'm hunting for proxy referrals, backdoor entries, or internal connects at companies hiring quietly. If you know of any leads, hiring managers, or groups for SFMC roles (especially in India/Bengaluru area), DM me or drop details here. Happy to share my resume/profile. Thanks a ton—times are tough post-layoffs! The goal was to show trends in approvals, demographics, and employer demand from 2020–2024. Looking for honest feedback on: * Clarity of insights (is the story obvious?) * Visual layout (too crowded vs balanced?) * Anything confusing or unnecessary Not aiming for a “perfect viz,” just something professional and easy to understand. Thanks in advance! Custom bridal jewelry with my own stones: where do I start?5h agoHi all, I couldn’t find much on Reddit about this, so I’m posting here in case someone has experience or advice. I’ve accidentally become a gemstone goblin over the years: I have a small but meaningful collection of precious stones that I’ve been saving for something special and I've decided for it to be for my bridal necklace. I have ample time (over a year) to plan this out so I want to give it the attention it deserves. I want this to be my first real heirloom piece. Something deeply personal, designed around my own stones, that I can wear at my wedding and (ideally) pass down someday with a dramatic backstory about how I curated it like a magpie with taste. I’m a 25-year-old guy from India, slightly on the introverted side, but I open up once I’m comfortable. I’ve been through a rough phase in the past (like most of us have), but I’ve taken time to grow, reflect, and get closer to God through it all. Now I’m at a point where I’d genuinely like to build something meaningful with the right person. A bit about me: \- I work as an Automation specialist \- I’m 182 cm tall \- I prefer a calm, simple lifestyle over chaos \- Not big on partying, I value deep conversations, consistency, and peace \- Love travelling and adventures.
