I recently became a CFA charterholder through CFA Society India. I received an email to confirm my delivery address for the physical charter certificate, which I did this month. Although I am aware that the official guidance from CFAI states it takes \~6-8 weeks for delivery, I am wondering what the actual timelines are and if there is a way for me to receive tracking information for the shipment (and if yes, how do I do so?) My company imports handmade wool rugs and cotton bathmats from India. The bathmats do not meet 16 CFR 1631, so they are labeled with the required flammability label. Out of 5 shipments of bathmats (4 containers and one air shipment), FOUR have gotten "randomly" pulled for intensive exams including the air shipment currently arriving in the country. I've been importing goods from India to the USA for 10 years. For small shipments, we typically use our supplier's courier accounts (or their freight forwarders) to get the best rates. But the customs brokerage part has always been a disaster. Duties and taxes are often billed to the wrong party, the importer of record is always listed as the courier themselves (Fedex/UPS) instead of my company. HTS codes and duties are often incorrect.
