Just started an export business from India — need practical advice from exporters

7h ago

Hey everyone, I’ve just registered my export company today and I’m starting my journey from India. I’m not looking for textbook info — I’d really value practical insights from people already in the game: \- What was the hardest part of getting your first buyer, and how did you crack it? \- Any mistakes you made early on that cost you time/money? \- If you had to start again, what would you do differently in the first 3–6 months? \- What actually worked for you in getting consistent shipments? Would really appreciate honest, ground-level advice. Thanks!

US Begins Additional Strait of Hormuz Blockade

8h ago

After failed peace negotiations, the US is aiming to impose its own blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to cut off China’s supplies. Details. Following the quick collapse of US-Iran peace talks in Islamabad, President Trump threatened to destroy “the little that is left of Iran”, saying that the US “will never be extorted” and that the US would move to blockade the Strait of Hormuz and intercept all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports. ► United States Central Command (CENTCOM) explained that a blockade of Iranian ports would begin at 10 a.m. EDT on Monday, 5:30 pm. The blockade is to be enforced “impartially against vessels of all nations entering or depa...

My experience with Hardware Corpus. Detailed review with timeline.

9h ago

*Before I start I would like to clarify a few things,* 1. *My review is based on my experience and can definitely be a lot different for other products or people, luck is a very big factor for this.* 2. *All the timelines given are true, but the things I concluded as their side effects are pure assumptions, which I am not claiming to be the exact case.* 3. *I did not use AI, so please don't criticize any typos or grammatical errors in this post.* 4. *I wrote most of this post before receiving the keyboard, its not biased at all. If anyone finds it hateful against HC or giving credits to them for no reason, I don't know what to say, source: "Trust me". Also I am not invit...

Help.Need to submit kyc, but don't have tracking number.

9h ago

I tried calling the Fedex India at their number multiple times and the KYC department didn't even pick up the calls. I've been trying for 1 hr and I had to come here to write this now. It's basically the reddit merch shipping. FedEx had called me an hr ago, asking me to submit my docs. But I haven't received any tracking number in my email id or phone number either. And I was told if I don't submit it before 5pm (india time) then my shipment will be cancelled. Looking for help please.

Talons in Twilight presents : For USA the Foreign Policy Tree (Indian Sub-Branch)

USA India sub-branch for the foreign policy tree

12h ago

Recently united and independent, India is America’s bulwark against communist China with their protection of Tibet. But the nation is fragile. A subcontinent united cannot forever last and both the Comintern and the ADN seek to have India on their side of the Cold War. Thus, the branch is designed to help an America player ensure this never happens as without India, the Americans stand little hope of gaining any continental allies in Asia… discord:

Sea Freight vs Air Freight how Indian exporters should decide with rates surging in 2026

13h ago

With air freight rates from India jumping 60 to 80% recently due to Middle East conflict and fuel costs, I wanted to share a simple decision framework for exporters. Choose sea freight when your cargo is heavy, bulky or high volume and transit time of 15 to 30 days is acceptable. Cost saving is significant especially on FCL shipments from 🇮🇳. Choose air freight when cargo is urgent, time critical, pharmaceutical, electronic or perishable and smaller lighter shipments where speed justifies the premium cost. The simple golden rule if it can wait, ship by sea. If it cannot wait, fly it. Happy to answer questions from exporters navigating this decision right now.

🚨HELP🚨

14h ago

Hello everyone, I am 18F, living in Bengaluru, India. My cats Wiwi and Archie (both 1.5 years old) have been suffering from neuro/occular FIP. They have 14 days left of their 84 days treatment course. If the course isn’t completed, they will relapse and we will have to begin treatment again, which is not only very expensive, but also very distressing for them. It also becomes harder to treat. Unfortunately no vet hospital has don’t has stock of the Basmi FIP capsules or injections. Basmi’s Indian representative is completely unresponsive. Due to the war, the shipments of the medication have been delayed. If you or anyone who you know could help, please reach out. Please share this as ...

Nightmare Exports

17h ago

A CHA’s Nightmare We recently handled an LCL export to Dar es Salaam. The cargo was medical equipments and required strict documentation, so we planned everything in advance. Before shipment, I informed the client that all documents must be ready: Drug Licence, GMP Certificate, ADC NOC, COA and others. Since the cargo was sourced from another supplier, we requested every document early to avoid last-minute issues. At the time of shipment, we received only the invoice and packing list. They were correct, but incomplete. We filed the shipping bill, moved the cargo and waited for the rest. Then the real problem showed up. The supplier stopped responding. No GMP. No COA. No distributi...

Trump Tries Playing Hardball In Hormuz; Ends Up A Laughing Stock

20h ago

Right, so Donald Trump has instigated a blockade on ships going to and from Iranian ports through the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow waterway at the mouth of the Persian Gulf, though the word instigated is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, because what has followed is not some neat picture of Iran being economically strangled at sea but China saying no, you’re not stopping us or we’re going to have a problem; other nations like  Britain and France saying no, we’re not going to help you in this act of self immolating stupidity, which is saying something given their leaderships, especially Keir Starmer who has been happy to launch bombers from UK soil and ‘defensively’ join Trump’s...

I own a small import/export firm in India, did two shipments to Africa, and now I’m in Dubai looking for bulk buyers

1d ago

I’m 21 (ish), studying in Dubai, and I own a registered import/export firm back in India. It’s not a big operation but it’s real. I’ve already done two international shipments to Africa, so I know how the process works. Right now the firm is mostly dormant, and I want to change that. Being in Dubai feels like an opportunity I’d be ****** to waste. I have sourcing contacts in India who can find almost anything a buyer needs textiles, spices, agricultural goods, manufacturing supplies and I can personally handle the trust and communication side from here. No middleman bureaucracy. Just two people figuring out a deal. If you’re a bulk buyer in the UAE or know someone who is, I’d l...
