I've been importing goods from India to the USA for 10 years. For small shipments, we typically use our supplier's courier accounts (or their freight forwarders) to get the best rates. But the customs brokerage part has always been a disaster. Duties and taxes are often billed to the wrong party, the importer of record is always listed as the courier themselves (Fedex/UPS) instead of my company. HTS codes and duties are often incorrect.
